This week I’ve been spending a lot of time poking around on the new National Jukebox that was just launched by The Library Of Congress. It’s a treasure trove of very early American music and should be required listening in every school system in the country. It’s truly amazing to think just how old some of these recordings are.
When I’m not listening to scratchy wax cylinders and old shellac 78s I’ve been perusing these fine modern recordings:
Enslaved – The Sleeping Gods (Free EP)
Razl – Microscopic
Clutch – Blast Tyrant (reissue)
Giant Cicada – Giant Cicada
John Wesley – The Lilypad Suite
Cruachan – Blood on the Black Robe
Kvelertak – Kvelertak
Skindred – Union Black
Paula Carino – Open On Sunday
