Now Playing

TsuShiMaMiRe – Giving Blood: Saw this all girl Japanese band live at SxSW a few years ago.  They’ve had some trouble getting records released in the US, but it looks like this one will be available stateside.

Agalloch – Live at Le Poisson Rouge, NYC: A FREE download from NPR…yet another reason to Save Public Radio.

Protest The Hero – Scurrilous: I seem to remember seeing PTH live once and not being impressed.  My memory must be faulty because this record is nuts.  I get a Symphony X as Math Rock/Metal vibe from them.

Soundgarden – Live on I-5: This is a live album that was recorded on the 1996 tour then shelved when the band broke up.  I LOVE Soundgarden and have seen them a bunch of times live and they were great.  I missed the 1996 tour because they canceled due to illness.  Chris’ voice was starting to go at this point and while I’m sure these were fun shows to see, there are some sketchy vocals on the record.

Bryan Beller – Wednesday Night Live: What a band…sounds like so much fun.  Someone should review this…

TesseracT – One: People had been telling me about this band for a while it seems.  There’s a LOT of Prog Metal going on here, dare I say TOO much.  I need to listen to it about a dozen more times just to take it all in.  Great stuff.
